This was taken (with Ektachrome film) on the Gulf Coast of Florida, mid-80's. Pelicans had disappeared along much of the Florida Gulf coast in the 1990's due to DDT (insecticide) destroying their eggs. Happily - at least prior to the latest oil spill(s) - Pelicans have been making a comeback.
