Greater Church of Christ's Ascension (Большое Вознесение)

This beloved church is nearby Patriarch's Ponds and Bulgakov's Flat #50, at Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street and Nikitskiye Vorota Square, near the Nikitsky Gate. Famously, this is where renowned Russian author Alexander Pushkin married Natalia Goncharova. (Pushkin died in a duel over her, in the end.)

You can see at ground level another image often mentioned in Russian literature, the linden trees, seen here - look closely - without leaves but covered in sparrows.
