ODE TO THE HORIZON
An internationally acclaimed sculptor from Gijón, Chillida, made this wonderful tribute to the horizon: El Elogio del Horizonte. This massive work stands atop a hill which overlooks the sea below as well as the beach and the old city of Gijón. Literally beneath the hilltop are old military barracks, with parts of the old walls and bunker doors visible as one walks along this charming park with so many beautiful views.
