This is a relatively recent but historically and architecturally interesting phenomenon: The Dancing House (Tančící dům), also known as "Fred & Ginger".
In this Czech homage to grace and form (designed by Frank Gehry and built from 1994-1996), these two buildings seem to be almost doing a tango.
